Two trainee military pilots have died in a plane crash in Kayseri, central Turkey, the Turkish Defense Ministry said.
After taking off from the military base in Kayseri for a training flight, the plane crashed into the ground for an unknown reason, the ministry added.
The first footage released by Turkish media showed flames and black smoke rising from the half-charred wreckage of the plane. The plane crashed in an agricultural field.
"I send my condolences to the families of our martyrs, to our heroic army and to our nation," Turkish Interior Minister Ali Erlikaya said in X.
According to footage provided by the Anatolian Agency, firefighters, rescuers and gendarmes were sent to the scene of the incident. | BGNES
