Timcho Mutsunski greeted the new Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev by phone

The newly elected foreign minister of Bulgaria and his Macedonian counterpart Timcho Mutsunski had their first telephone conversation, BGNES reports.

This was announced by Mutsuanski on his profile in the social network X. He noted that the conversation was friendly.

"I congratulated him on his appointment and expressed our determination to strengthen our partnership, enhance cooperation and jointly contribute to regional stability and mutual progress," Mutsunski said.

Georg Georgiev accepted the post from Ivan Kondov at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"Returning here is a more special moment for me, not only in career terms, but also in personal terms. I am grateful that I see so many familiar faces and that the Foreign Ministry, in some difficult and turbulent times, has preserved the image of the country with dignity and respect, as we Bulgarians all want to see it," Minister Georgiev said in his speech at the ceremony. He thanked Ivan Kondov for the results achieved by the caretaker cabinet in foreign policy. Georgiev stressed that in his opinion the quietest front of Bulgarian politics is the work of Bulgarian diplomacy, and believes that he and his team and the Foreign Ministry staff will continue the efforts to protect and defend Bulgarian national interests. | BGNES
