The Crisis Management Center (CMC) reported last night that all severe fires in North Macedonia were extinguished with the help of the rain.
"The rain that fell in the afternoon helped extinguish several large fires that had been raging for a long time," said Stoyanche Angelov, director of the Crisis Management Center.
Several smaller fires are active and will be extinguished today.
Macedonia has been battling fires for almost two months, some burning for weeks, and foreign aid has been requested. From August 1 to today, 660 fires have been registered in Macedonia, 98 of which are forest fires and most of them have grown into large fires that are difficult to extinguish. | BGNES
