"We are ready to talk with Bulgaria in connection with the inclusion of Bulgarians in the constitution of North Macedonia."
This was stated by the Prime Minister of the North Macedonia Hristijan Mickoski, during his guest appearance on Alsat M TV.
"Let's see what will happen with the decisions from Strasbourg about the Macedonian community in Bulgaria, let's finally see about the Macedonian identity, about the language, etc. We have many open questions to discuss. We are ready, we want to talk, debate and find a solution. That's why I said that if there's a will, there's a solution, but it takes two people," Mickoski said.
He claims that the question of Skopje's membership in the EU does not come down to whether the politicians in the North Macedonia:have the will to vote for the constitutional changes, but whether Brussels has the will to solve this problem.
"Because if there is a will in Brussels, there is a way," said the Macedonian Prime Minister.
"We have a fully synchronized foreign and security policy with the EU and we constantly monitor the processes led by the EU, but unfortunately the last two and a half decades since the official start of our path to full membership have been filled with many challenges. And these challenges are artificial and these challenges are always related to the Macedonian identity and affect it, all without exception. Many times in the past Macedonian identity has been affected and concessions have been made at the expense of Macedonian identity," Mickoski added. | BGNES
