The "Mothers of Srebrenica and Žepa" have joined the series of pressures and threats from the international community and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, because of the celebration of the Day of the Republic of Srpska, which started on January 8 in Banja Luka and continues today January 9, demanding 9 January to be declared a day of mourning in Republika Srpska, Serbian Telegraf reported.
In a statement released by the media in Sarajevo, they believe that this day should honor the victims killed in what they say is a joint criminal agreement. The statement by this Bosniak association came after threats by the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmitt, that January 9 is an unconstitutional day for the Republika Srpska, and demanded a response from the police and the prosecutor's office.
The Minister of Defense in the BiH Council of Ministers Zukan Helles announced that today American bombers will fly over the airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The country's Constitutional Court, consisting of three foreign judges, previously declared January 9 unconstitutional as Republika Srpska Day only because the Serbian Orthodox Church commemorates Saint Stephen on that day.
The Constitutional Court believes that the RS can and should have its own day, but it cannot be January 9 because it hurts the feelings of the other two peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina - the Bosniaks and the Croats.
Despite the pressure and threats, in Banja Luka and in all cities and municipalities, the Day of the Republic of Serbia will be celebrated today and tomorrow with a series of events./BGNES
