"The European Union is very interested in preventing another crisis in Kosovo. We have already seen many crises and very few solutions and steps leading to de-escalation."
This was stated by the bloc's spokesman, Peter Stano, at a regular briefing in Brussels.
He commented on Kosovo's decision to open the Iber bridge to vehicular traffic and the call of the Serbian List party to Brussels, KFOR and EULEX to "prevent a new crisis in Northern Kosovo that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti wants to cause".
Peter Stano emphasized that the opening of the bridge corresponds to two agreements from 2015 and 2016.
The bridge over the Ibar River divides Mitrovica into two parts - southern, where Albanians live, and northern, inhabited mainly by Serbs. | BGNES
