The Central Bank of Turkey kept the interest rate unchanged

At the end of its fifth consecutive meeting, the Central Bank of Turkey kept the main interest rate at the level of 50% per annum.

The regulator's decision coincided with the predictions of most experts.

Annual inflation fell to a nine-month low of 61.78% in July, according to the data.

"The decision on the implementation of tight monetary policy will reduce the core trend of monthly inflation by curbing domestic demand, real appreciation of the Turkish lira and improving inflation expectations," Turkey's Centobank said in a statement. | BGNES
