Skopje asks Bulgarian ambassador to explain photo with Bulgaria's flag

The Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria Zhelyazko Radukov was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of North Macedonia, where concerns were expressed regarding the "deviation from the agreed protocol for photographing Presidents Gordana Silyanovska-Davkova and Rumen Radev", BGNES reports.

Ambassador Radukov was not met by Foreign Minister Timcho Mutsunski, but by the Director of the Regional Initiatives Directorate.

A "further explanation from the Bulgarian side" was also requested, the ministry said. There is no indication that a note of protest was served.

In the conversation with the Bulgarian ambassador, it was stressed that the meeting and the joint lunch of the two presidents on 13 September passed in a friendly atmosphere.

BGNES notes that the meeting between the two was not official, nor was the visit of Siljanovska. | BGNES
