"A compromise solution for Kosovo is necessary. There cannot be a one-sided solution where the Albanians gain everything and the Serbs lose everything."
This was stated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in an interview with the Swiss newspaper Veltvohe.
According to Vucic, the negotiation process brought the two states closer to such a compromise solution, but it was not reached because Pristina did not fulfill its obligations.
"A compromise solution is necessary and we were close to such a solution. They (Kosovo) did not want to reach it. Now we are far from a compromise solution, we are not even talking to each other, although we (Serbs) are ready to talk." said the Serbian president.
He pointed out that Pristina does not want to create an Association of Serbian Municipalities (ASO), which is an obligation of the Brussels Agreement.
"There cannot be a one-sided solution where the Albanians win everything and the Serbs lose everything. Nobody is stupid in Serbia. We know how difficult the situation is, but that is why we insist on a compromise solution. I believe in the citizens of Serbia, I believe in the region Vucic emphasized.
He stated that the countries of the Western Balkans do not need borders between themselves, but unfortunately the countries are not close to that.
Vucic also pointed out that the Serbian people are deeply connected to Kosovo and that this connection "cannot be broken in the way the people of the West want."
The Serbian head of state added that the Serbian people can no longer tolerate the double standards of the West. | BGNES
