Serbian president thanks China for voting against Srebrenica resolution

"Serbia is grateful to China, which voted against the resolution on Srebrenica in the UN General Assembly, and I have asked Foreign Minister Wang Yi to convey to President Xi Jinping my greetings and our gratitude for the constant support and sincere friendship."

This is what Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic wrote on his Instagram account. The post was made after Vucic's meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in New York, where the two are attending the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

The Serbian president said he and the top Chinese diplomat discussed bilateral relations between Belgrade and Beijing and "further cooperation in areas of mutual importance to the global issues and problems we are facing today."

"I presented to him the increasingly difficult situation of the Serbian people in Kosovo and asked for Chinese support in the fight for truth and respect for international law," Vucic wrote. | BGNES
