Fanny Karanfilova Panovska is the new vice-president of the party.
The Macedonian party Social Democratic Union /SDSM/ elected a new leadership at its 30th congress, which was held on 24 November, BGNES reports.
"We are bringing new energy into our ranks. We open our doors to all those who are close to social democratic ideas and values," the SDSM said.
Fanny Karanfilova Panovska is the party's new vice-president. At today's congress, the formation also elected 113 new members of the Central Council, but this list does not include any of the MPs or previous senior party members. Party leader Venko Filipche pointed out that "new people get a chance".
Former Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski attended today's congress, but not Zoran Zaev. Filipče clarified that the reason for his absence was commitments outside the country.
Earlier, Filipče told delegates that "the defeat in the elections is not the end, but a new beginning for the party, which will return to the path of victory".
"IMRO-DPMNE have always been and will remain political cowards and a party that has never taken responsibility at key moments for the country. Their policies are hindering the country's progress and pushing Macedonia towards a new era of regime," the SDSM leader added. | BGNES
