At the suggestion of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the country's president, Tamas Sujok, awarded an order to the head of state of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
Hungary's highest state honor is given to Vučić for his significant role in deepening relations between Hungary and Serbia, for his outstanding services to the development of relations between the two countries in the fields of economy, energy, security and the strategic partnership between Belgrade and Budapest . This is stated in the official announcement on the occasion of the award. In it, it is emphasized that "Vucic also has great merits for the historical reconciliation between the Hungarian and Serbian people".
According to Orbán, "increasing cooperation between the two countries also contributes to security in the region."
