This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia, Timcho Mucunski, on the sidelines of the 79th UN General Assembly in New York, BGNES reports.
He addressed the Summit on the Future of Interactive Dialogue on "Strengthening Multilateralism for International Peace and Security" .
In his address, Minister Mucunski stressed that today we face many threats, including new conflicts, terrorism, violent extremism, risks from new technologies, human rights violations and climate change.
He pointed out that no country can tackle these challenges alone and that an effective multilateral approach is needed to ensure international peace and security.
"The future must be predictable, prosperous and without fear, he said, adding that "the evils of war and conflict must be a thing of the past."
"Today, we have a unique chance to strengthen our multilateral agenda and global systems by adapting them to the challenges we face in international peace and security. Tomorrow is already our present," added Mucunski, stressing the readiness to actively participate in efforts to strengthen multilateralism.
The minister noted the need to promote multilateral solutions based on the UN Charter, respect for human rights, the rule of law and democracy as key diplomatic tools. | BGNES
