"We need to show European citizens that European resources are being used properly."
This was stated by the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his meeting with the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
"Let me once again congratulate you on the significant progress that Croatia has made regarding the Schengen area, the euro and the fact that your economy is developing particularly well. It is always a pleasure to welcome you to Athens," Mitsotakis said.
"And as the figures show, in terms of funding to GDP, in the projects implemented, both Greece and Croatia, countries with pro-European governments, not only make very good use of NextGenerationEU resources, but this has a significant impact on public investment and as overall on the efforts to recover from the crisis," said Plenkovic.
"Thank you also for the support you gave to Croatia's accession to the Schengen area last year, as well as to the Eurozone. I believe that NextGenerationEU proves that countries like Greece and Croatia can really make a difference by using EU resources properly," he added. /BGNES
