The incumbent head of state won a new 5-year term in the presidential elections.
Croatian President Zoran Milanović, who won a second term in the elections, thanked the citizens for their support and underlined that he sees the victory as a recognition of his work so far and a strong message to the government about the need for responsible governance of the country.
He called for cooperation and pointed to the importance of respect for the Constitution and "fair distribution of resources".
Zoran Milanovic said he would not put public pressure on Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, but they would have to "talk".
"Sharing is a skill and a virtue, and today the citizens clearly expressed their opinion," he said, as quoted by HRT.
"Croatia, thank you! Thank you Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thank you to all Croats and Croatian citizens in Croatia and around the world. This is a great day for me personally and I see this victory as a recognition," the politician said in his victory speech.
"For the Croatia we want. Faithful to the homeland, long live our Croatia!", the President concluded his address. | BGNES
