The future government of North Macedonia with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski envisages searching for "alternative solutions" regarding the constitutional changes, reported BGNES.
This is clear from the government's four-year program of 61 pages, in which there are six emphases - improving living standards, fighting corruption, rule of law, functional institutions, national priorities, rights and freedoms.
Mickoski promises a "new national strategy", "protection of Macedonian national interests and the Macedonian minority in neighbouring countries", as well as a "consistent foreign policy".
The document highlights a key strategic goal - the accession of the RSM to the European Union.
"The government will strongly advocate finding an appropriate solution in addition to the real movement of the European integration process, without accepting the dictates of third parties. To find possible solutions to the issue of constitutional changes, which has already been set as a condition for starting negotiations with the EU, the government will offer legal and legitimate options and proposals following international law and principles. These proposals will create conditions for greater predictability of the European integration process, protected from unprincipled demands so that it leads to full membership of Macedonia in the EU. Ensuring predictability, the certainty that no additional bilateral conditions will be imposed during the negotiation process will make our integration path to the EU more secure," the document says.
"In the future diplomatic engagement, the government will make every effort to provide sufficient guarantees in addition to the protection of the Macedonian centuries-old identity, the Macedonian language and distinctiveness, and in this direction will request immediate support from the European institutions, our neighbours, allies and strategic partners. The government will promote cooperation within regional organizations, initiatives and processes, advancing European perspectives and developing relations based on the principles of mutual trust, enhanced economic and trade cooperation, permanent dialogue and mutual respect. We will continue to participate proactively in all regional initiatives, but will we insist on expanding them by covering more countries of the region and reducing the areas where these initiatives overlap", the future cabinet foresees.
The parliamentary session to elect a new government of North Macedonia was scheduled by Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi for Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m. local time.
In the parliamentary elections held on May 8, VMRO-DPMNE won 58 MPs, VLEN - 14, and ZNAM - 6. The three parties will form a coalition government. The full composition of the cabinet was announced by Hristiyan Mitskoski on June 18. |BGNES
