Mickoski's Albanian allies: Macedonia to be the first country in the world with two academies of sciences

The Albanian party VLEN, a coalition partner of VMRO-DPMNE and Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, requested that two academies of sciences function simultaneously in the country - Macedonian and Albanian, reported BGNES.

The former chairman of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MASA) Vlado Kambovski does not agree with the idea of creating a parallel structure.

"It is impossible for such a structure to exist in a country that already has MASA. There cannot be two academies in one country. No country in the world has two national academies of sciences and arts. Health associations can be made, but there is no way to have two national academies", stressed Academician Kambovski.

He pointed out that scientific and artistic institutions should be based on common scientific and cultural values and not on ethnic or political biases because this can lead to division and conflicts in the scientific community.

VLEN/VREDI announced yesterday, July 28, the initiative to establish the Albanian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The leaders of the party indicated that the plan is to initially finance it from the municipal budget of Tetovo and then to take over the financing from the state budget. | BGNES
