Mickoski: Constitutional changes are a dictate

"If the 'Treaty (of Good-Neighbourliness)' can be renegotiated and the French proposal can be added to it, I don't see why a French proposal should not be added to cover the demands of the Macedonians in Bulgaria."

"The constitutional changes that are part of the French proposal are an addition to the "Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness and Friendship", i.e. renegotiation. There is no negotiation with dictation and ultimatums."

This was stated by the new Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski.

"If the 'Treaty (of Good-Neighbourliness)' can be renegotiated and the French proposal can be added to it, I don't see why a French proposal should not be added to cover the demands of the Macedonians in Bulgaria."

"We cannot have a policy of double standards. If we want to change the Constitution in Macedonia and introduce several hundred fellow citizens who declare themselves Bulgarians, then let's see what will happen to those citizens who say they are part of the Macedonian community in our eastern neighbour," he added.

Hristijan Mickoski is adamant that no one is against the Bulgarian community, but that the "several hundred" citizens respect each other.

The agreements have been concluded, and there is no renegotiation of Prespa, nor with Bulgaria for progress towards the European Union, the American ambassador Ageler is categorical. | BGNES
