The largest parliamentary parties in North Macedonia are today discussing a date for holding the next elections, reported a BGNES reporter.
A meeting is being held in the Macedonian parliament between the leaders of SDSM, DSI and the Alliance of Albanians and VMRO-DPMNE. Parliament Speaker Talat Jafferi was also present at the meeting. They should discuss the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in 2024, changes to the Electoral Code in accordance with OSCE/ODIHR recommendations, as well as the country's European integration.
Party leaders are expected to agree on a date for the May elections.
Before the meeting, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski did not make a statement. Arben Taravari of the Alliance of Albanians said he expected a consensus.
The chairman of VMRO-DPMNE Hristiyan Mitskoski called the initiative for negotiations between the parties "another gymnastics". /BGNES
