Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski demanded a lasting and sustainable solution to the "problem with Bulgaria", BGNES reported.
"The main priority of Macedonia and the new Macedonian government is good neighbourly relations and finally finding a lasting and sustainable solution to the problem we have with our eastern neighbour," Mickoski said after the fourth European Political Community (EPC) summit, referring to Bulgaria.
"Furthermore, I would underline the meetings I had with President Zelensky, as well as with European Council President Michel, where I clearly presented the positions of the new Macedonian government," the North Macedonian prime minister added in a video address.
During the forum, Hristijan Mickoski focused on "the challenges in energy, regional connectivity, but also what is in the interest of North Macedonia".
"The main interest of Macedonia as a country is to be a country through which the main energy sources will pass, which will supply Central Europe," the prime minister emphasized.
BGNES reminds that on the sidelines of the forum, Mickoski held talks with the new UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic, Croatia's Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Jacob Milatovic, President of Montenegro.
The Macedonian prime minister also met with President Rumen Radev. The Bulgarian Head of State expressed hope that the Republic of North Macedonia would speed up the implementation of the bilateral Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighbourliness and Cooperation with Bulgaria and the country's agreements with the European Union, which would open the prospect of starting negotiations for full EU membership.
