Kosovo police found assault rifles and explosive devices in the properties of Serbian citizens

The Kosovo police seized a large amount of weapons in the properties of Serbian citizens Marjan Radojević and Zarko Cvetković, BGNES reported.

The two are wanted in connection with the terrorist attack in the village of Banjska, Northern Kosovo, on September 24 this year, carried out by a heavily armed Serb group that entered from Serbian territory and attacked security forces. Then the Kosovar sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed.

"Explosives, weapons and ammunition were again confiscated in Northern Kosovo, thanks to our vigilant security forces and increased cooperation with our citizens. Destabilizing threats from Belgrade will be countered with law and order," wrote Kosovo's Interior Minister Jellal Svechla on the X social network.

Confiscated weapons include AK-47 assault rifles, pistols, large cartridges, revolver holsters, hunting weapons, ammunition, body armor, explosive devices, radios and other devices.

BGNES recalls that on September 24, 2023, the attackers from Serbia barricaded themselves in the Banjska monastery, where a battle with the police began. Three of the Serbs were killed in the shootout. Subsequently, a number of caches with a huge amount of weapons were discovered in the region.

Milan Radojcic, the former vice-chairman of "Serbian List" (the largest party of the Kosovo Serbs) and a close friend of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, is accused of being the organizer of the attack. After the attack, he fled to Serbia, which refused to extradite him back to Kosovo. Interpol issued an international arrest warrant for Radojcic. | BGNES
