"Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic did not sign the Brussels agreement to leave open the possibility of a return to Kosovo."
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said this, calling for the agreement to be finalised urgently.
In the panel discussion on security challenges in the Western Balkans, organized by the Chatham House Institute. Kurti added that the European Union should carefully review democratic reforms in the Western Balkan countries so as to reduce the risk of possible tensions.
"The signing of the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is more urgent than ever. We need good faith to have legitimacy and to implement it. By not signing it, Vucic will keep open the possibility of invading Kosovo. I don't see any substantive point of this refusal to sign other than they want to keep that door open so they have other windows to come back and repeat the aggression," Kurti said.
According to him, Serbia is using the aggression in Kosovo to maintain good relations with Russia and China, as "both countries are aggressors who do not trust anyone and always have to prove themselves". /BGNES
