High inflation in Turkey has led to a boom in Italian jewellery imports

Turkey's high inflation has boosted jewellery exports from Italy's Arezzo industrial region in Tuscany.

The area thus compensated for a fall in sales of leather goods from the nearby region of Florence.

This is according to Intesa Sanpaolo's data for Italy's industrial regions. Demand from Turkey, where inflation reached 61.8% in July, drove jewellery exports from the Arezzo region up 133% in the first quarter of the year compared to the same period in 2023.

Gold is considered a good investment against high inflation and a safe store of value in times of uncertainty. I BGNES
