Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan begins a four-day tour of the Balkans.

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that during the talks with his colleagues Hakan Fidan will discuss "bilateral relations, current regional and global issues". During the tour, Fidan will meet with Turkish businessmen and representatives of Turkish communities in these countries.
"The Balkans as a whole is a priority for Turkey not only from a political, economic and geographical point of view, but also because of the historical, cultural and human ties with the region. In recent years, the Balkans region has become an attractive market for Turkish investors with its skilled workforce , a business-friendly investment environment and tax and financial incentives", says the information of the city of "Sabah" about the tour of the Turkish diplomat.
The publication recalls that not long ago "Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania reached an agreement to clear the Black Sea of floating mines". The three countries have established a task force that aims to reduce risks to shipping as the conflict between Russia and Ukraine threatens their territorial waters.
The Russian navy mined the Black Sea coast of Ukraine at the beginning of the war. Some of the mines have since washed up in the waters of the three countries, endangering shipping and complicating Ukraine's efforts to break through Russia's naval blockade. The initiative, which will have a rotating command structure, is likely to become operational in the month of May. /BGNES
