Greece: Mitkoski to stop provocations, the Macedonian issue is firmly resolved

The Greek Foreign Ministry responded to yesterday's statements by Prime Minister Christian Mitkoski, reports BGNES.

The statement said that "the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, in his statements in New Jersey, USA, spoke about the 'unresolved' and 'existing' Macedonian issue. "This statement is a challenge to Greece, trying to bring back to the forefront the issue that is resolved, as it is known, definitively and irrevocably," the ministry statement said.

"Greece recalls that further progress in its bilateral relations with North Macedonia and the smooth continuation of its neighbour's European path require full respect for the Prespa Agreement and, of course, refraining from irredentist declarations and claims against neighbouring countries," the Greek Foreign Ministry statement added.

BGNES recalls that on 22 January, speaking during a meeting with his compatriots in Washington at the Orthodox Church of St.. "We have to win in Washington, Brussels, Berlin, London, Paris, Rome and other world capitals if we want the Macedonian issue to finally find its solution, because it is not solved, it has been smouldering and smouldering for centuries and it still exists." | BGNES
