From the office of the Prime Minister of North Macedonia: We are not giving up on Corridor 8, but we will not build it

The Government of North Macedonia issued a statement regarding the publication of the BGNES Agency this morning regarding the Bulgarian plans for the construction of Corridor 8 and the connection of the two countries by railway.

In this morning's BGNES information, which was received from the National Railway Infrastructure Company, the construction of all routes was described in detail with deadlines and funding of over BGN 2.2 billion.

Hristijan Mitskoski and the government have never once said that they are giving up on Corridor 8 and the need for a rail connection. But at the moment, the state is not able to spend over half a billion euros of citizens' money on a project that will end in a dead end and for which there will be no economic benefit for the citizens in the near future. This is stated in the position of the government of North Macedonia to the local television "24".

The Macedonian government also accuses the Bulgarian state of politicizing the issue and violating good neighborly relations. I BGNES
