Five killed in Serbian military vehicle crash

A Serbian military vehicle collided with a civilian vehicle near Kraljevo in central Serbia.

Five people, including three children, died in the accident, AFP reported.

The defense ministry said the crash occurred "during routine duties" as the self-propelled mobile anti-aircraft system was travelling in convoy with a military police escort.

"According to initial reports, there were injuries and fatalities in the accident," the ministry said without providing further details.

Later, the director of the general hospital in Kraljevo, Zoran Mrvic, told state media that five people had died, including three children, and another person was in a serious condition.

A Serbian army driver was detained on suspicion of causing the accident.
