EU warns Skopje: Negotiation framework will not change, we will judge the government by its deeds

European Union Ambassador to Skopje David Geer warned the new Macedonian government that the Negotiating Framework with the bloc will not change, reports BGNES.

"I have always been very clear about this agreement that was reached in July 2022. This led to the start of accession negotiations and the screening process. I don't see the possibility of changing the Negotiating Framework and this position has not changed after the elections," Geer said after a meeting with European Affairs Minister Orhan Murtezani.

"We look forward to a close, regular and successful working relationship with the minister and the ministry," Geer added.

The diplomat stressed the importance of keeping the European integration process high on the political agenda.

"This is what the government is saying. We will judge the government based on what it does. If it wants to move forward on the path of European integration, we will be firm and committed partners," the EU ambassador explained. | BGNES
