European Union countries have confirmed the establishment of the new Western Balkans Reform and Growth Fund, which includes six billion euros, Austria's Foreign Ministry said.
"Great news from Brussels for all our friends in the Western Balkans: EU Member States have confirmed a new Reform and Growth Fund for the region. We have long sought this financial stimulus of €6 billion to support our partners' reforms and gradual integration into the EU," the announcement on the social network "X" said.
Austria's Minister for European Affairs, Karolina Edstadler, hailed this as excellent news, saying the financial assistance and concrete benefits in return for reforms would bring the Western Balkans and the EU even closer together.
"This will accelerate the integration process and enhance European security in line with the concept of gradual integration of the Western Balkans on the path to full membership! The Western Balkans are part of the EU family", she announced. / BGNES
