Erdogan: The US and Britain are using disproportionate force in Yemen

The US and Great Britain have used disproportionate force in Yemen, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Anadolu Agency reported.
Erdogan addressed the US and British attacks in Yemen, saying "all these actions involve the use of disproportionate force. Israel also uses disproportionate force in Palestine."
"We are getting information from various sources that the Houthis have made a very successful defense, they have provided successful responses against both the US and the UK," he said.
"Of course, right now they are already looking to turn the Red Sea into a lake of blood," he said.
The US and Britain have struck multiple targets inside Yemen in response to ongoing drone and missile strikes by the Iran-backed Houthis on international sea lanes in the Red Sea. The Yemeni group's attacks began in November in response to Israel's war in Gaza.
Regarding South Africa's genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice, Erdogan said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had nowhere to hide and that there was no defense for his actions.
"I would see Israeli President Isaac Herzog in a much more honest atmosphere at this point, but lately he has also been imitating Netanyahu, starting to make very different statements," he added.
He also said Israel was presenting its arguments to the UN's top court, adding: "But the documents we presented are useful to The Hague."
"With these documents, Israel will be held accountable there. We are waiting for that because we also believe in the justice of the International Court in The Hague."
Amid ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, Turkey "is also taking in as many children, women and the elderly as possible and treating them in our hospitals."
The first day of the trial ended after South Africa's ambassador in Amsterdam, Vusimuzi Madonsela, read out the nine interim measures his country had sought from the Court against Israel.
On the first day of the trial, the South African side presented to the ICC its accusations against Israel together with the supporting reasons and evidence.
South African legal representatives at the trial accused Israel of "deliberate actions against the residents of Gaza, proving genocidal intent". /BGNES
