Turkish President Recep Erdogan said during his meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi in Ankara that the two countries stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation against PKK terrorists and its offshoots that threaten the security of both countries and the region, reported " Sabah'.
Speaking at a joint press conference after a ceremony where the two leaders signed 10 agreements between the two countries, Erdogan said he once again condemned the recent terrorist attack in Kerman on January 3.
"I want to state that Turkey supports Iran in the fight against terrorism," he said.
The Turkish head of state noted that he and Raisi discussed the need to end Israel's "inhumane" attacks in Gaza and facilitate the achievement of a just and lasting peace.
"We agreed on the importance of refraining from steps that would threaten security and stability in our region," he said.
For his part, Raisi said that Tehran has good relations with Ankara and wants to strengthen them to even higher levels in the future.
The two countries signed 10 cooperation agreements after the 8th Turkey-Iran High-Level Cooperation Council meeting at the Presidential Complex.
