The presidential candidate of the Croatian Democratic Community (HDZ) Dragan Primorac claimed that the big difference between him and his opponent Zoran Milanovic is that he, unlike Milanovic, has a programme.
With almost 100% of the ballots counted, Milanovic won 49% of the vote and Primorac just over 19%. The two will face each other in a second round on 12 January, reports Hina.
"As an athlete, I know that things happen in life where that difference that is made may seem big at first, but for me personally it is a challenge. Because the Croatia that I dream of and that I advocate for with you is the Croatia of the future, of wisdom that will not be divided and that will be positioned, strongly, in the world. A Croatia that will not be divided and that will have a president who will unite the citizens of Croatia", Primorac said.
"A Croatia in which people will live better and which will have a president for all citizens, not just for some. This is the Croatia I am talking about and this is the Croatia that needs to happen," he added.
After thanking all those who voted, Primorac especially thanked those who gave him their trust, but also those who did not because, as he pointed out, he will have the opportunity to do so in the second round.
In the second round, we start from the beginning, Primorac argued, saying that he had not yet seen Zoran Milanovic's programme "and that nobody knows what Milanovic offers to Croatia".
"You know very clearly about my programme, it is a programme that offers everything Croatia needs - a community where people will live better, young people will not emigrate, where we will take care of every pensioner and which was created and founded on the holy victorious Patriotic War and which protects and defends the interests of veterans," the HDZ leader added. | BGNES
