The President of Republika Srpska (RS - an entity within Bosnia and Herzegovina - note ed.) Milorad Dodik said that he believed in independence in the RS and that he believed that it would happen one day and that in some perspective he could be responsible for this, "Sarajevo Times" reported.
"When Donald Trump won in America, I intended to declare the independence of Republika Srpska. Then some around me got scared and I didn't do it. I have to say that today I regret not doing it. But if Trump wins again, I think that I will not hesitate," said Dodik.
As for the US sanctions against him and his family, the chauvinist said that he is no longer powerless and that he has no right to sacrifice the interests of the RS for the sake of his own convenience.
He added that he is proud of his family, adding that they are very conscious and responsible people and that they are struggling in life, and this worries Americans.
The President of the RS added that he was legitimately elected and that he has the right to choose how to conduct politics.
"The key issue around me is no longer crime, now everything comes down to rhetoric, that worries them and is detrimental to them," Dodik pointed out.
Speaking about relations between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik said that what matters to Serbia is the presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, not a third of that presidency, which consists of Denis Becirovic, who, he said, "is a quasi-historian and hates everything Serbian, speaks lies, but has no potential to do anything"./BGNES
