The leader of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia /SDSM/ Dimitar Kovachevski warned of the danger of the "return of the VMRO-DPMNE regime".
"For the future of the country, a strong SDSM is needed in the parliament. There is no other way to prevent VMRO-DPMNE from returning the regime that we have been trying to overthrow for so long," Kovacevski said.
The former Macedonian Prime Minister called on citizens to go to the polls en masse on May 8 and support the SDSM candidates for deputies and the presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski.
"We are aware of the mistakes we made. All this was a lesson from which we learned a lot. Difficult decisions meant many political compromises and surgically precise management of Macedonia's NATO membership process," said Dimitar Kovacevski.
The first round of the presidential elections in North Macedonia ended with a lead for VMRO-DPMNE candidate Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova of about 180,000 votes against Pendarovski. On May 8, the second round will be held, together with the parliamentary elections. /BGNES
