Croatia pledges support for Kosovo's membership of the Council of Europe and the EU

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković expressed his country's support for Kosovo's accession to the Council of Europe and the European Union.
Plenkovic held a meeting with his Kosovo counterpart Albin Kurti on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, reports the Albanian Post.
The two discussed the situation in the Balkan region.
"I discussed the situation in the region with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti. I congratulated him on the lifting of the visa regime for Kosovo citizens and expressed my support for membership of the Council of Europe and the path to the EU," Plenkovic wrote.
"We also discussed areas for further cooperation, such as education. I thanked him for Croatia's support regarding our sovereignty, defence and territorial integrity," Kurti announced in turn.
During his stay in Switzerland, Kurti also met with Federal Council member and head of the Ministry of Justice, Beat Jans, with whom he discussed the fight against corruption and crime in Kosovo.
"Jans expressed his support and admiration for our country's fight against crime and corruption. We also discussed ways to improve legal cooperation for the sake of a strong partnership," the Kosovo PM added. / BGNES
