Cameron asked Rama for peace and cooperation in the Balkans

"The UK has an interest in normalizing relations for Kosovo and Serbia and in advancing processes of reconciliation and cooperation across the region."
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said this after his meeting with British Foreign Minister David Cameron, "Albanian Post" reported.
Rama said he and Cameron discussed the "very good" relations between Albania and the UK and how to deepen them.
"We talked not only about the relationship as two allied countries in NATO, but also as a bilateral relationship in terms of which Britain intends to be more actively present in our region. We talked about participating in a strategic project for Albania, Kosovo and the region, such as the Durres-Pristina railway, which is a key element of the project to increase the capacity of movement not only between the two countries. We talked about the joint project or program to combat illegal human trafficking, we are very pleased, but our joint work will continue," added the Prime Minister.
He said the progress of reconciliation processes in the Western Balkans region was discussed.
"Cameron is a firm supporter of these processes," Rama emphasized.
"The United Kingdom has also expressed an interest in normalizing relations for Kosovo and Serbia, where positive steps have been taken, but there is still stagnation in the country or the risk of going backwards is felt," the Albanian prime minister said.
He thanked his British colleague Sunak and Minister Cameron for their readiness to support Albania's proposal to become in 2025 the host country of the great summit of the common European community, which will be held in London./BGNES
