"As president, I can complete the process of membership of the Republic of North Macedonia in the EU in the next 5 years."
This was stated by the foreign minister and candidate for president of North Macedonia from the Democratic Union for Integration (DSI), Bujar Osmani, reported BGNES.
"My first promise is the country's membership in the EU by 2030. If as Minister of Foreign Affairs, I had the challenge of starting negotiations with the EU after 17 years of waiting, I believe that as president I can complete the EU membership process in the next 5 years, I will use all the potential of the European front, all my knowledge, the knowledge from the processes I have led, my experience, my contacts around the world, to complete this process in the next 5 years. And I promise you that I will do it if I get your support,” Osmani said.
As a second promise, the top diplomat indicated the partnership with the USA.
"There is no greater harm and greater betrayal that you can do to your people than worsening relations with the United States," he stressed.
He pointed out that European integration is the main message of this vote, adding that this election is not an election for votes, but an election in which "our country, our destiny, our families, our children are between two alternatives: either integration, or isolation, or coexistence, or supremacy"./BGNES
