"Treaties, especially international ones and those woven into the EU negotiating framework, are respected". This is what GERB leader Boiko Borissov said, addressing North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, BGNES reported.
A few days ago, the Prime Minister of North Macedonia stated that there should be a renegotiation of the so-called French proposal, which was a prerequisite for the start of negotiations and the lifting of the veto by Bulgaria on the path to EU membership for North Macedonia. The document concerns the inclusion of Bulgarians in the North Macedonian constitution in order for the country to be accepted into the EU.
Borisov said that despite the good relations between him and the EU partners, the treaties must be respected. "Any interpretations are not good for the North Macedonian colleagues," Borisov said.
He emphasised that if there is a regular cabinet he will initiate a meeting with the prime minister of North Macedonia.
"Without our support and that of Greece, North Macedonia has no chance for the EU. Now let them be responsible. As they received our support, now they cannot rely on it," the GERB leader insisted. | BGNES
