"Kosovo accepts the EU’s proposal on the Serbian dinar".
This is what Kosovo's chief negotiator Besnik Bislimi said, adding that Serbia is not ready to compromise, reports the Albanian Post.
Bislimi made these comments in a press statement from Brussels, following a meeting he held with Serbia's chief negotiator Petar Petkovic, mediated by the European Union's special envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak.
"Seeing the impossibility of reaching a compromise, Lajcak came up with a consolidated proposal, which we believe is constructive and is on the right track to find a solution that best suits the Serbian citizens in Kosovo, but at the same time respects the Regulation of the Central Bank of Kosovo," Bislimi said.
"Last week it was made clear to the Serbian side that the next meeting can only take place if they come up with ideas for a compromise. Unfortunately, even today we still have big differences," he added.
Serbian chief negotiator Petar Petkovic countered Bislimi's statement, saying that Pristina had not shown "enough will" for an agreement and that a new meeting on this topic was expected. / BGNES
