Croatian President Zoran Milanovic handed over a mandate to form a government to the leader of the Croatian Democratic Union (CDU) party, Andrej Plenković, HINA reported.
Plenkovic presented the signatures of 78 deputies, which guarantee the new parliamentary majority. 61 of them are representatives of CDU, and 12 signatories are representatives of the Fatherland Movement.
The list contains the signatures of four deputies from the national minorities and the deputy Vesna Vucemilovic.
The elections in Croatia took place on April 17. Plenkovic's party won 61 seats out of a total of 151 in the parliament. The Social Democratic Party of President Zoran Milanovic remained in second place with 42 seats. /BGNES
