Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his advisers were "met" by Russian missiles upon their arrival on an official visit to Odessa, Ukraine, Greek Reporter reports.
Mitsotakis was about to meet with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky when an explosion went off in the city center, about 200 meters from the Greek delegation.
State Minister Stavros Papastavrou confirmed to Greek media that there were no injuries among the Greek delegation after the blast.
Odessa is a frequent target of Russian missiles and drones. On 2 March, 12 people, including five children, were killed after a Russian drone attack on an apartment block.
Zelensky said the attack showed the need to further strengthen the country's air defense capabilities. "One of the enemy drones hit an apartment building in Odessa. 18 apartments were destroyed," he said. /BGNES
