A large fire was brought under control near the border between Bulgaria and Turkey

A large forest fire that broke out in the Turkish district of Edirne, near the border with Bulgaria, was brought under control.

The disaster began in a wooded area near the village of Yomeroba, Lalapasha municipality, and it has not yet been established what caused it, Anatolia Agency reported.

Strong winds caused the fire to spread quickly, but firefighters were able to contain it within 6 hours. Several firefighters were reportedly injured while battling the blaze. Paramedics provided quick assistance on the spot.
