The investigation launched by the Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Prosecutor General's Office into the suspects involved in illegal activities in mosques and madrasas under the name of Ahidder within the ISIS terrorist organization continues, Anatolian News Agency reported.
The trials of the 34 suspects, who were detained as part of the investigation, have been completed at the police station.
After the health check, the suspects were sent to Istanbul's Caglayan Court and after their statements at the prosecution, they were handed over to the criminal judge on duty for the peace cases.
The judicial panel decided to arrest 23 of the suspects whose procedures were completed.
Judicial review was decided for 10 of the suspects, requiring them to sign a petition, and judicial review in the form of house arrest was decided for one.
What happened?
In the work carried out by the Istanbul Branch Counter Terrorism Directorate teams, it was found that illegal activities were being carried out in mosques and madrasas under the name of Ahidder within the ISIS terrorist organisation.
Establishing that the suspected "MK" was conducting illegal lectures, talks and jihad-related events, the teams revealed that money was being collected and used for the activities of mosques and madrasas to be opened on behalf of the organization.
After ascertaining the identities and addresses of the suspects who were providing funds to the terrorist organization and its outfits, the teams conducted simultaneous operations in 10 areas and arrested 34 suspects. | BGNES
